Ladakh is a land of Festivals,  every occasion from marriage of couple, birth of a child, harvesting, commemoration of Important person birhtday etc. Losar  Festival (New year); is the beginning of New Year in the Himalayan region and the festival is marks as lighting the hundred-thousand lamp as Galden Namchok at every places like monastries, Palaces, houses and thus begun the festive mood of the native. The feasting is begun by greetings Lord Buddha at Chokhang vihara., Dancing & singing of folk songs that forms a part of its living heritage. Losar is one of the most interesting festival to show around in Ladakh.

There are festival of different kind, many  of the festivals are held in Summer season. With colourful festival you can combined Snow Leopard trek during winter period and also Oracles festival with Snow Leopard trek.

Sindhu Festival at the spring time, Hemis Tsechu is the huge and most important monastic festivel held at Hemis monastery. Phyang Tsedup, Yuru Kabgyat and Takthok Tsechu  are  also very popular for mask dance at different monastery and these monastic festival are very colourful and beautiful events visited local as well as tourists.  These monastic festivals are the heart of all the festivals. They are performed by Monks wearing colorful silk garments and different facial mask. People comes from all over Ladakh, Zanskar, Nubra Valley with their best of garments, ornaments and jewelleries. It makes this  a very colorful festival.  Ladakh is a unique land of festival and country of smiling faces.
